Welcome to our blog series, where readers can learn more about the people behind your favorite medical cannabis dispensaries and products. This week, we caught up with Jeffrey Herold, the CEO of Garden Remedies in Massachusetts.
1. Can you tell us about your dispensary’s founding story and what sets it apart from others?
Absolutely! Our dispensary was founded by a passionate doctor and breast cancer survivor (Dr. Munkacy) who, after spending time in California, saw the potential to professionalize the cannabis industry. She believed patients deserved access to high-quality, reliable products in a professional setting. What sets us apart is our commitment to quality and our deep roots in Massachusetts. We mostly sell products that we make in-house, ensuring that every item meets our strict standards. Plus, being a Massachusetts-only company means we don’t have a backup plan. We stand behind our products, and if a patient ever has an issue, we take it back, no questions asked.
2. Could you provide an overview of the products and brands offered at your dispensary, highlighting any unique offerings or specialties?
At Garden Remedies, we offer a diverse range of products, including flower, pre-rolls, vapes, edibles, concentrates, topicals, tinctures, and seeds. Our standout brand, Realm, categorizes strains into Floral, Sweet, Fuel, Fruit, and Earth, making it easier for patients to choose based on their preferred aroma and effect. We also feature brands like Aero for vapes and High Flavor for various product types. Our commitment to in-house production ensures the highest quality and consistency in all our offerings.
3. How do you ensure the quality and consistency of your products? What steps do you take to prioritize patient safety?
Quality and consistency are our top priorities. Our dedicated cultivation team is led by our Chief Cannabis Officer, Kyle Vigeant, who oversees every aspect of our growing process. We also have rigorous testing protocols in place to ensure that every product is safe and effective. Patient safety is paramount, so we adhere to all regulatory standards and continuously educate our staff to maintain best practices. We believe in full transparency, and we’re always here to answer any questions our patients might have about our products.
4. What are some common misconceptions about medical marijuana that you aim to dispel through your work?
One of the biggest misconceptions is that medical marijuana is just about getting high. In reality, it’s about improving quality of life. Whether it’s managing chronic pain, reducing anxiety, or helping with sleep disorders, cannabis can be a powerful tool for healing. Another misconception is that all cannabis products are created equal. We work hard to educate our patients on the differences between strains, the importance of dosage, and the various methods of consumption to help them find the best solution for their needs.
5. What advice would you offer to patients who are new to medical marijuana and seeking guidance on finding the right products and dosages for their needs?
For patients new to medical marijuana, I always recommend starting low and going slow. It’s important to begin with a small dose and gradually increase it until you find the right balance for your needs.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Our knowledgeable staff is always here to guide you through the process. Also, keep a journal of your experiences to track what works and what doesn’t. This can be incredibly helpful in finding the right products and dosages.
6. Lastly, how can patients connect with your dispensary to learn more and access your products and services?
Patients can connect with us in several ways. Visit our website for information on our products and services, or drop by one of our dispensaries for a face-to-face consultation. We’re active on social media, where we share updates, educational content, and special promotions. And, of course, our customer service team is always available by phone or email to answer any questions and help guide you on your journey with medical marijuana. We’re here to support you every step of the way.
